    Description:
Harlan Coben's Lazarus has a pretty open ending, but does that mean season 2 is guaranteed?

FULL STORY ======================================================================Harlan Coben's Lazarus season 2 hasn't been commissioned as of writing Coben is open to a second season "if it's demanded" and there's "a good enough story" Star Alexandra Roach "very open" to resuming role

Don't get too excited even though all six episodes of Harlan Coben's Lazarus are now available to stream on Prime Video , there's no official talk of a second season.

On the face of it, this shouldn't be too surprising. Every single Harlan
Coben series in existence (think Fool Me Once and Missing You over on
Netflix) is a limited series, but these are all book adaptations. Lazarus is the first original script for Coben and co-writer Danny Brocklehurst, so hypothetically, its lifespan is endless.

After that shocking episode 6 ending (and no spoilers here, don't worry), I could see how Lazarus could go either way. There's enough questions squared away for season 1 to be the end of the line, but not so many that it's impossible to revisit.

Given that it will be the question of everybody's lips this week, I asked Harlan Coben, his cast and crew about their season 2 thoughts... and they are not as negative as you might think. Harlan Coben is open to Lazarus season 2 if there's 'demand' and 'a good enough story'

"We think that the ending is very satisfying to the story," producer Nicola Schindler tells me. "We do give all the answers in that final episode. So there should be nothing that you're left waiting to hear.

"They're great characters, and it's a great setup. If you want more, that's great but episodes should work in their own right."

"We never do a show aiming for season two, which is why we never do season twos," Coben adds. "If it's demanded, and we come up with a storyline that's as good or better, we'll do it. If not, we're happy to do a new, original story."

You only have to look at Netflix's social media feed to see that Coben isn't short of other ideas. An adaptation of novel Run Away will be hitting the streamer on New Year's Day 2026, so regardless of how it shakes out, Lazarus season 2 won't be at the forefront of Coben's mind.

For star Alexandra Roach, the possibility of more episodes is a lot more hopeful. "I'd love to play Jenna again, and go back to that fancy house and wear those fancy clothes and pick up the story from where we where we leave it," she tells me.

"I think it's, it's so open. And I'd love to see Jenna's reaction to [the cliffhanger]. I love Harlan and Danny's writing, and the challenge of
bringing that to life. I'd definitely be open to more."
