I use Linux every day. I can't stand it because of the kids that think they are "hackers" because they know a few command lines.

I assume you blame the kids and not the OS?

I use it every day but know I am not a hacker or "l33t". Just a computer
user who likes to tinker sometimes. ;)

In Jr. highschool nobody... and I mean "nobody" was ever l33t or cool for messing around with Vic-20's, Apple 2's, Tandy 1000's... that was pretty much the entire world making that abundantly clear... including parents.

Programming in 6502 assembler sure didn't help one's chances of scoring at
the Jr. high dance... Some girls used to call a few boards in my area. Only
a few were really worthy of being deemed attractive and "normal".

Yes, and no. One I thing I CANNOT stand is the stupid permissions for EVERTHING. It's bad enough on Android, but shit just to access an usb stick is like asking for gold sometimes.

When I was in Jr. high (and high school), most people wouldn't have
known what those even were. If they took the computer class in high school, they did know what a C-64 was because that was in the lab.

I knew what a TI-99/4A was because we had one.

The only "girls/women" that called them in my area were likely not female.

At some point about the time I left that area, Janis did have her board
    online.

I do still have an occassional issue with exteral drives but, usually, they work now. I do have to mount them manually, though... for a while, that
was not the case and is probably something I did accidentally that broke it.

OTOH, I have run into some other "permission hell" scenarios that really
pissed me off. IIRC, I also ran into some similar situations with my work
Win 11 machine, but not as often.
