  • HELP! I need somebody...

    OK, this is driving me crazy and I hope that one of
    you here can figure this out. I have been setting up
    doors on my board and to test them, I log in from
    a different computer.

    When I do, and I run a door, the door pops up as a
    window on my HOST COMPUTER instead of the computer
    I am calling in from. And then the computer I am calling
    in from just freezes up. It happens mostly with
    doors that are Python scripts or doors are run as external
    programs. This is driving me crazy, to the point
    where I am ready to switch BBS programs. Any idea
    what I could be doing wrong? I have tried everything
    I can think of. Thanks.

    Are you SSH'ing into your BBS? If so, see if it works via Telnet instead.

    This is one of the reasons I opt'ed to use BBSLink instead of running my own door games locally, so that: A. They work over Telnet & SSH and B. I get to play those games with others.

    I found a solution. I set up the TelnetDoor program to Telnet
    out to the MUDs and it is working great. I've somehow solved
    the problem with the screen popping up on the host computer too.

    That TelnetDoor program is great. You could use it to Telnet out
    to anything, I guess.
