    Per the story:

The UK government has issued an order to Apple telling it to allow officials full access to any
iCloud content belonging to any user across the globe.

I think one confusing thing about that article is that the headline and parts of the article talk about spying on iPhone users, and that they want a back door into iOS, though the article also mentions they want to access iCloud content - I thought iCloud was also accessible on Mac desktops and laptops, not just iPhones?

I think only that particular headline is misleading.

The story has broken across various news agencies now. The
main issue is access to iCloud, to that means the directive is
not limited to just phone users.

This particular anti-privacy issue needs to die.

If criminals don't use iCloud, they'll use something else.

As far as I know, iCloud gets most of its activity from iphone users, and overwelmingly so. If I were writing a clickbaity headline then mixing iCloud and iphones together makes sense because that is a connection the audience will intuitively get.

It could just say something like "iCloud users" and I think that would be perfectly accurate.
