i have a rinky-dink antenna like this one:

    and make plenty of contacts.

do i cut through a group of 40 callers just to sound like a bored rich fart that paid for voice acting classes? no

but i've still made some great contacts from Michigan into Europe pretty easily.

I actually had that happen back when I had TM-D700 in vehicle. Seems someone really wanted it. Interestedly, because my auto and home owners were through the same company, they actually covered the lose minus like a small deductible at the time.

Right now, I am pretty much just down to a few HTs. I had to get rid of a lot of stuff when the wife and I RV'd full time for 3 years. Now that we are not doing that, we been dealing with getting the house in order. Which is why I am still down to just the HTs. Hopefully by the end of year, I might actually get some new gear.

Sorry, i don't remember. Maybe a "RTL-SDR.com" tutorial, on their book "THE HOBBYIST'S GUIDE TO THE RTL-SDR" on Amazon. Or one "Tech Minds" YT video.
