    From Retroswim@21:2/121 to All on Mon Mar 17 03:54:22 2025
    Hi all!! I'm trying to integrate the fsxNet InterBBS stuff into Ezycom.

    I have written an external tool to read the messagebase and parse the
    messages into cool ANSI screens, but I'm only guessing at how to put information back in.

    I entered created a text file using the layout I observed:

    BEGIN
    (ROT47'd details here)
    END

    And used the menu command in Ezycom to enter a mail from a text file. I
    think it sent? I see it being sent in BinkD's logs.

    Can somebody else please take a look and see if my echo(s) get delivered?
    And if so, can you see me on the last callers?

    One of the sent messages might have the content un-rot47'd due to a
    programming error. Oops! Hope that doesn't break anything!

    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Cheers

    Hi there, yes, I saw this come through earlier. Indeed, it is not encoded:

    You're including a lot of "SEEN-BY" lines that don't need to be included. They're not breaking anything, at least not on my IBOL mod for Synchronet, but I can't necessarily saw the same for the xq-ilc mod for Mystic.

    You're also not including an origin line.

    Again, the "SEEN-BY" lines are getting appended like before.

    You did show up in my IBLC last callers list though. Nice work!

    Thank you for confirming!

    I think those seenby's may be coming from the hub?

    I inspected the binkley packet from when I put that message through, and it
    is missing the origin, seenby, and any kludge lines in fact.

    I think when I load the text file as an echo, it's not getting that stuff appended by the board like it would if I sent one the usual way. I'll have
    to add it to the text file manually perhaps. More experimentation is needed,
    I think.

    Thank you for the response by the way, much appreciated!!

    Cheers

    They SEEN-BY lines are probably valid, and not necessarily added by the author (they shouldnt be otherwise anybody in them wont get it).

    I'm assuming the message originated from Hub 2 (since it he is a hub 2 node), went to Hub 1 and then Hub 4, hence why you see all the 1/*, 2/* and 4/* nodes (but none of Hub 3's).

    Yeah, I just thought it was worth mentioning, since I'm not used to seeing them appended to last-caller or oneliner messages in the data echo.

    The origin line is missing in Retroswim's ibbslastcall-data messages, so that's going to make them hard to spot in the echo. You might see a lot of SEEN-BY lines like I did though.

    I'm not sure if/how NE's IBBS last caller mod keeps track of the data it reads from the echo, but if you see anything for "Pool's Open", then that would be from Retroswim's board. This is the data my mod captured for it:

    "bbs": "Pool's Open",
    "address": "ezycom.retroswim.net:2323",
    "lastcall": "03/16/25 05:43p",
    "lastcall_hdr_date": "Mon, 17 Mar 2025 03:44:08 +0000",

    Thanks for the help. I parse them like regulr echomail into my FSX_DAT area and then the IBBS last caller plugin parses those into a .dat file to be read.

    That said, I can't even find the raw echomail to FSX_DAT in my DB here. I noticed that the SEEN-BY lines only a few show HUB 3 but it's possible it just didn't make it here by the time those were generated.

    Do you have a date/time when they were posted/received? Maybe I can dig through my logs and see if I see any shennanigans going on while processing/parsing.
