North American QSO Party - SSB
The August North American QSO Party (NAQP) - SSB, begins at 1800 UTC on Saturday, August 16, and concludes at 0559 UTC on Sunday, August 17. The NAQP's 12-hour format allows participants to enjoy contesting, while still having time for other weekend activities. ARRL Rookie Roundup - RTTY
If you earned your ham license within the last 3 years, or have never participated in a RTTY contest before, the ARRL Rookie Roundup is the perfect opportunity for you to try contesting on this digital mode. The event begins at 1800 UTC on Sunday, August 17, and runs for 6 hours, concluding at 2359 UTC.
Rookies can contact everyone, and non-Rookies can only contact Rookies. The exchange is your name, call sign, a two-digit year, and state (US or Mexican), Canadian province, or "DX." Full rules are available at www.arrl.org/rookie-roundup [

ARRL 10 GHz and Up Contest
The first weekend of the ARRL 10 GHz and Up Contest begins at 0900 UTC on Saturday, August 16, and concludes at 0759 UTC on Monday, August 18. Participants are reminded that they should log contest contacts in UTC time. Participation is limited to a total of 42 hours of operating time in each of the two contest weekends. Mini-Contest University to Be Held at Northeast HamXpo
The Northeast HamXposition in Marlborough, Massachusetts, will once again host a
Mini-Contest University (Mini-CTU) program on Friday, August 22.
This is a single-track full-day program featuring well-known contesters presenting topics for all levels of contesters. Speakers include John Dorr, K1AR; Fred Lass, K2TR; Mark Pride, K1RX, Gerry Hull, W1VE; Doug Grant, K1DG; Dennis Egan, W1UE, and Tony Brock-Fisher, K1KP. K1DG will also be presenting some of Bob Sherwood's, NC0B, latest transceiver
test results.
