    ARRL 222 MHz and Up Distance Contest

    The ARRL 222 MHz and Up Distance Contest is this weekend, starting at 1800 UTC on Saturday, August 2, and concluding at 1759 UTC on Sunday, August 3. Stations may be contacted on any authorized mode on the 222 MHz through 241 GHz amateur bands.     Ten Ten International Summer QSO Party â-" SSB

    The Ten Ten (10-10) International QSO Party - SSB is this weekend, beginning at 0000 UTC on Saturday, August 2, and concluding at 2359 UTC on Sunday, August 3. The 10-10 QSO parties are a great way for anyone interested in operating on 10 meters to get on the air. All amateurs with operating privileges on the 10-meter band may participate.     North American QSO Party - CW

    The North American QSO Party (NAQP) - CW begins at 1800 UTC on Saturday, August 2 and concludes at 0559 UTC on Sunday, August 3. The NAQP's 12-hour format allows participants to do some great contesting, while still having time for other weekend activities.
    Power output is limited to 100 W, so this is a great contest for beginners with low-power stations to get their feet wet! The exchange is your name and state; Canadian province or DXCC entity.

    Maryland-DC QSO Party

    The Maryland-DC QSO Party, sponsored by the Anne Arundel Radio Club (AARC), begins at 1400 UTC on Saturday, August 9 and concludes at 0400 UTC on Sunday, August 10. Completing at least one contact with the AARC host station, W3VPR, is worth 50 bonus points. Participants can also earn 500 bonus points by contacting all 25 Maryland-DC jurisdictions during the event; 250 bonus points can be earned by contacting 13 of the 25 jurisdictions.     50 MHz Fall Sprint

    The VHF contest season is in full swing! The 50 MHz Fall Sprint will be held on Saturday, August 9 from 1800 - 2200 UTC. Participants can enter in the Single Operator High Power, Single Operator Low Power, or Rover categories.
    All simplex modes of operation are allowed (CW, SSB, FM, AM, and digital.) Contacts through repeaters or via satellite are not allowed and will not count as contest contacts.
