It's easy to get those newly unemployed people to grab a picket sign
and stand on a sidewalk, because that's an activity that matches their skill set.
Thinking about that more critically: It's easy to realize that the left exploits people by skin color; that's for votes. But I was puzzled by
"Why are pandering to transgender people who are such a tiny part of
the population?" It's because that's NOT for votes; that's for creating exploitable tragedies.

Exactly.
I've often theorized that they were grooming people who would snap at
some point, creating fuel for their false narratives.

The Democrats have a big interest in "mental health services." They're pushing for it to be offered by schools, but it never made sense until now; these tragedies that they foment make it hard for idiots to
disagree.
Which is interesting because it's the Left who wanted to close mental institutions.
What it's looking like is this:
1. Close mental institutions - thie feeds the "homeless crisis" and
closes a way for someone who needs help.
2. Pump people full of drugs for ADD, "gender affirming care", etc.
3. Let them fly off the handle then use the tragedy to push their Narratives on gun control, etc.
A perfect "there's no connection to us" way of doing things.
So they need to clamp down on that and prevent too many people from
seeing the cause/effect. So they want the schools, already in their control, to handle things and keep it quiet.

Things were probably stagnant for a while; sometimes the pot needs to
be stirred.
I see it that way too. Democrats are sniveling, miserable, hypocritical manipulators. But manipulating mental case adults wasn't enough for
them, so now they're shifting their focus on school children.
That it. They have no self-consciousness, but somehow they stay mindful about covering their tracks.
Children are curious and unsure about things. They will be fascinated
with the new door in the school with a sign on it that says "Mental
health services."
"Hmm, maybe I need mental health services?"

No. It was planned to help with their agenda.
One of the things that people noticed is that as the mental hospitals closed, the number of people in prison went up.
"Hmm, maybe I need mental health services?"
More like the kid thinks "What's this?"
And the mental health "professional" who needs to have patients to
justify his pay, convinces the kid that the kid needs help.

I understand, and I see it that way too. But that's what I meant by
they needed to "stir the pot." They needed to create more problems that they could mandate "solutions" for.
I didn't see it like that here, but I did see Democrats (Cuomo most recently) closing mental institutions with more homeless and more
crime; I don't believe that they're going to jail though, because jail
has been cancelled in my state for most people.
This is going to be another one of those "ultimate tests of
intelligence." We're going to see who thinks it's perfectly natural for public schools to administer mental health services.
We didn't need a bill to pass, more money, etc. We just needed a new President.

It's the same people who have been programmed to defer to "experts" to
do their thinking for them.
