    How about we change this:

    WELCOME!
    You can only READ past and future messages at this time. But in
    order to WRITE to Fido echo conferences, please register with
    @Fido2Telebot by sending the command %USERPROFILE in the chat
    with @Fido2Telebot. Use %HELP in the chat with @Fido2Telebot
    for more details.

    ..to this:

    WELCOME <insertname>!
    [1] A real name is required to participate in Fidonet echos.
    Please R)eply to this message with %REALNAME Firstname
    Lastname.
    [2] Send %HELP to @Fido2Telebot for complete tips on how to use
    this system.

    ..or is there some better set of instructions?
