As the ice freezes, it lifts and climbs as it "expands".
For a second, I thought you were gonna say, "lifts and seperates". ;)
I was meaning to mention to you, last week a new TV show came out
and it's an American remake of Doc Martin called Best Medicine.
It takes place in a small oceanside town in Maine (actually filmed
in New York), and it is pretty much the exact story, skilled Doctor
Martin Best takes up a practice in the small town after losing his
surgery posting at a big hospital when he developes a debilitating
fear of blood.. It's on Tuesdays here on standard channels (CTV).
Now I know how old you might be. :D

I am looking forward to seeing where this version goes.
Yes, they will likely just take a few ideas from the original and
then come up with their own stories. I've only seen the first
episode so far. I have the second recorded but didn't get to it yet.
At least I hope I got it.. The PVR says I do but it's lied to
me before, and that was on the night when my power went off
for 5 1/2 hours..

OK I won't spoiler anything for you. ;)

I watched episode 2 last night. I think they even half stole some
of that one from the original. I seem to recall Doc Martin going
to the school where Louisa taught and almost closing the place
down due to some illness going around, although I don't remember
anything about a Bean supper.. B)
I was also going to mention.. Do you watch Death in Paradise?

I did, but our PBS affiliates quit showing that one during (or at the end
Right.. I think you mentioned that last time we talked about the Brit
shows we watch. We are getting brand new episodes of Death in Paradise,
which is a bit of a surprise it's still on. So many of those series
are at least several years old by the time we get them.
I get it here on an American feed actually.. PBS Detroit..
Re: Doc Martin.. I was looking up some of the characters and I
think I suspected this a long time ago but it was mentioned on
one of the entertainment sites that the pharmacist lady that
wears the neck brace, only does it because she has a crush on
the Doc and is looking for attention/sympathy from him..
Was there a character in the original series that was the same
as the rich guy who sponsored the Baked Bean dinners?
Some of the characters on Best Medicine are radically different
and it's tricky to place them but I'm not sure about that one.

Apparently, the various PBS stations can pick up some shows but don't
have to carry all of them. Way back when, one of the local PBS
stations was part of the statewide Kentucky Educational Television
(KET) network while the other was an independent PBS station. IIRC,
the programming available between the two varied wildly. Now they are both part of KET.

That could have been. Slight spoiler but what wound up happening was that>Martin was convinced she didn't need it, and either he (or his Aunt Ruth,

I think they have changed it a lot for the American audience. In the>original, Martin seems to have an issue (maybe slightly on the autism
Very little of what happens reminds me of the original.
