I haven't received a message since the 8th of October, except for Net
340 messages. Is anyone else having problems? I contacted Rob Starr
who was unaware of the problem somehow and he said that his NC had a
VM crash. It's back up AFAIK and I still haven't seen any new
messages.

No, "FidoNet" isn't down.
What you said is confusing, because Rob Starr *is* your NC, and
technically he doesn't have an NC. The next link up from him would be
the RC of Region 17.
Have you changed your Fido configuration on *your* end? Perhaps that is
the cause of the outage?

Nope, I haven't changed anything since the 4th. I haven't received anything since the 8th.

Okay, so the next logical troubleshooting step would be to find out if
NC340 is receiving echomail from RC17. Also is anyone else in Net340 getting their mail? Just a matter of asking and following the trail...

Ok, it's back up. I just need to rescan 2 weeks ago.
