• Great Photos

Back in the mid 80's, I bought my wife a Canon AE1 and she took a course in photography.

The back of our home faced a 1-1/2 acre pond that stretched about 1/2 mile or so west.
She took several shots of the setting sun which turned out beautiful. For Christmas one
year, I had them blown up and framed. I mounted them at the back rear door wall so
that the pictures were just above the view that you would see when you look out the
    back screen room.

Because she was so into taking photos, I always knew that I could go to a local pawn
shop to get filters, zooms etc. for a fraction of the cost.

The day came when we switched to a digital camera and no longer had a use for the
Canon. I was told that I could go to a University and donate the equipment to the class
teaching photography. At least she got a few good years out of it and took a lot of great
    photos.

Previously i love photography. But instead of good memories, the photos make me sad. Everything around is changing too quickly and not always for the better. So I stopped taking photos. I just a photograph of the things for sale and that's it.

The thing about photos is that it IS a memory. When things change, the photo remains
    the same.

I like taking photos of things to preserve them in case they do disappear.
I took a couple of trips along US Route 66 in 2021 and 2023. Even from the 2023 trip, I got at least one photo of a landmark that is now gone.

I understand you, but there are things that I don_t want to remember, because it won_t get any better. If you know what I mean.

Yes, perhaps you are right. But I stopped liking looking at old photographs.
