We went and saw the new Studio Ghibli / Miyazaki film "The Boy and the Heron" this weekend. It was really good and reminded me more of the fantastical films like "Howl's Moving Castle" or "Spirited Away".

Why the aunt did? I haven't really given it much thought. Off the cuff, I
think I probably assumed it was to get her sister's blessing about the new relationship with the child. Or possibly the uncle supernaturally beckoned her? There was a limited release here, so I've only seen it once. I am
certain that as soon as it's available in the home, my wife will quickly
remedy it. There was A LOT going on in the meteor world that I only half understood, and a lot to desect because it seems to be a metaphor not only
for miyazaki and his life, but for Japan and it's 'relationship' with World
War II as well. <- This is a lot of philosophizing happening over a cartoon.
