So many systems on autopilot... and then they just stop...

I don't, and never have understood the "thrill" of setting up a BBS, doing anything to it, never logging into it, never checking on it, bu it run with nothing on it.

I think a lot of sysops do put time to customize it, but sometimes I
think some sysops get busy and their BBS becomes a low priority for them for a while but they still want to keep running it. They might get back to it at some point when they have more free time.

I tend to agree, this has been me at times.

    Hello Vorlon!

I can see why they loose interest, especially if they dont

    not get a response...

All the BBS information out there show's that it's more of
a txt based system, and not a GUI that a user can point a
mouse at and click a button.

Which means.. that more people are inclined to tap and swipe as
apposed to use an actual keyboard?

There is alo the issue that some people think that FB/
Websites are the "Internet" and don't do anything else.

Nah.. people are well aware of the various messenger apps:
WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Signal, Sypes, Session, Simplex,
Matrix ..to name a few. And among them both mobile and desktop
    versions are available.

I have come across people that only own a Smartphone and a Tablet.

I have also come accross people that think FB and the like is also all of
    the internet....
