• postie route

    From Blue White@21:4/134 to apam on Mon Dec 18 08:10:00 2023
    apam,
    I have noticed an issue with postie. I have two Z21 connections. I have
    them both set up as links. One is my hub, 21:4/100, that I often have
    trouble connecting with (he is down a lot), so I have set my route info
    to point all Z21 routed traffic to my other connection, 21:1/175, which connects to Avon's system directly:

    [[route]]
    aka = "21:1/175"
    pattern = "21:*"

    My understanding of routing mail is that if there is netmail destined for
    a system set up as a link (i.e. 21:4/100), that the mail should go to
    that link and, if it is not set up as a link, it should following the
    routing directions. That is how sbbsecho works, for example.

    However, postie is sending all netmail, including mail for 21:4/100, to 21:1/175.

    Thanks.

    With postie you need to specify each route you want netmail to take.

    So you'd need to add a route for mail to 21:4/100 before your catch-all route.
