I just uploaded a build for win32 for MagiTerm 1.1.17.

This fixes an ansi rendering bug.

Everything other than windows can build from source if they like.

Upgraded here on my two systems. Never noticed an ANSI bug and I call
Pharcyde who has quite the ANSI setup!

I also love when you see those "You must use Syncterm" screens and I just
say to myself "No I don't!" right before Magiterm displays a sixel image.

I only noticed it when using RMDoor, it re-encodes ANSI files it sends, and often \e[0m becomes \e[m which I didn't handle.

I also love when you see those "You must use Syncterm" screens and I just say to myself "No I don't!" right before Magiterm displays a sixel image.

Hah. yeah, I sometimes leave a message, "it looks good in magiterm!" but, not very often.

I do like syncterm, but it can be a pain to compile. I wanted to test it with RMDoor, but could not get it to compile in openSUSE tumbleweed (I have before, but required some modifications, but i don't remember what) The debian binary doesn't run at all (on opensuse tumbleweed)

I think most of those, "You must use Syncterm" really should read "Don't use netrunner", because we all know there's only two modern BBS terminals in the world.

Anyway, now there is icyterm too. Although I've not had much luck with it, I hear it's good, and might also support sixel images.

It's wonderful that there are some great, and actively developed, options to choose from!

At least to me, one of the defining features of BBSes is that they can be connected to from a variety of systems and software. So I am glad we haven't fallen completely into a monoculture of BBS software.

    Thanks for your contributions!

I sometimes do as well! Depends on the BBS.

I used it for years. It just did something strange on the old laptop
(The one that didn't have escape) and when you came out with Magiterm it
was just a better fit for my setup. Now I just like it. ;)

Netrunner is one that I never had good luck with. It ran but not well.

I installed it, it works fine. I just prefer the less complex simplier interface of Magiterm.

It's been a while since I tried it, I can't remember what went wrong (I think it crashed or something) It's probably much better now - I should try it again.

I didn't have any crashing issues, it just wasn't my cuppa.
