If you read the conspiracy theories on X, they are nuke sniffing drones, according to some, there is a dirty bomb in the NY Tristate area. The government doesn't want mass hysteria so they are not saying anything. If you listen to others, it is China getting ready to attack the US on our soil. No but the government knows, and they are mum. I live in NY so if something happens, I will be one of the first gone so it will be a good thing.. LOL

    This.

Or if they are drones, it's teenagers and hipster dudes goofing off.

Former Maryland governor Larry Hogan claimed to have spotted a bunch
of drones; it turns out he was looking at the constellation Orion and
    was looking at stars.

Anybody have any thoughts about all these drones

If you listen closely to most of the official statements... not of foreign origin, no threat to national security... I suspect they are US Military,
CIA, or possibly DHS drones that are being tested, similar to how the
military flies helicopters, etc., in formation while on manuevers.

As yet, I have not heard any official federal government statements that
say they are not military aircraft.

In at least one case, the footage shared looks more like an airshow of some sort. If you look towards the ground, under the drones, you can see what appears to be searchlights dancing around.

A lot of people probably did hear about the drones and are now
    misidentifying other objects as drones.

However, there is also video footage of the drones. They look bigger than
what most hobbiest would be using. One in particular shows three hovering
in formation and blinking their lights in unison.

Another shows a bunch of drones flying in formation while the sky below keeps lighting up. I suspect that footage may be of some sort of airshow that
was using search lights in unison with the formations.

Aside from the possible airshow, I suspect some of the instances where the viewer really saw drones are military or some other government drones.

You may be right, but that's not what that link shows.
That link shows the business routes; that is, connections
between two places. The NYC/EWR/PHL/BOS/DC corridor,
however, serves _many_ routes, and in a relatively small
area. To find which general area has the busiest air
space, you'd have to compare the sum of all routes going
    into a given airport.

That is, the ORD<->ATL route may be busier than ORD<->LGA,
and O'Hare and Atlanta are huge, very busy airports; but
probably neither is busier than JFK/LGA/EWR combined.

I don't know much about these drone sightings, but I did wonder if they
could be delivery drones, like delivering packages from one place to
    another.

I think tenser's conclusion is the best though - it has to be aliens,

are really alien motherships preparing for an invasion.

Maybe, but some packages are quiet large? Stocking supermarkets from

Who knows, if it is the government, I imagine it's just some kind of
