  • Syncterm help

    Trying to compile and install Syncterm on Linux Mint and I get this message:

    install: cannot create regular file '/usr/bin/syncterm': Permission deniedgmake: *** [GNUmakefile:215: install] Error 1

    Can someone please help me?

    It says right there in your terminal.

    What normally happens is compiling software from source is done as a normal user, and then when it comes to installing it the use of the "sudo" command
    is required..

    ie: "sudo make install" will then install the software.

    Google install Syncterm, there is a help file written by Meatlotion that gets it installed really fast...

    I finally did this, but now when I try to run it nothing happens.

    I would really like to get back to using SyncTerm instead of NetRunner, but I guess NR will just have to do for now.

    To compile on Linux, I HIGHLY suggest using MeaTLoTioNs install script - it checks what distro yer using and can get it installed on mostly all of them; including Ubuntu/Mint:

    In fact, I keep the script on all my Linux machines. :P Its really good...
