  • Dial-Up Boards?

    Does anyone run anything with a dial-up node or two? I run Ele, but I think
    it would be about the same as Mystic or even DOS boards. What fossil driver
    do you use? Can I still use netfoss, or would I need to use ADF, BFU or X00 on that node? Would winsock compatible doors still run? This Would be easy
    enough to implement in the netfoss batch file if so. I'd love an answer on this. I've asked many places, but have yet to get an answer.

    I do run a dial-up node BUT it is a DOS board running in a DOSbox-X instance on linux, so I cannot answer the questions about winsock doors. I am using ADF but only because BinkleyTerm for DOS requires a fossil. I have been using ADF since the days when the board ran under DOS and DESQview.

    If your ELE board is telnet-able, you might be able to use the SEXPOTS program (from the Synchronet packet, but not only for Synchronet boards!) to answer the phone and pass the connections to your ELE system. I think it runs on both Windows and linux and maybe doesn't require any fossil?

    Yay! I've had that suggested by a couple of helpful people. Looks like a solution!
