I make chopped liver with chicken livers often, it's something we
    both like especially when sick.

I can post a recipe if you're interested.

yeah post it, i'm interested in experimenting with it.

    clean up those recipes.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 by AccuChef (tm)

Title: Chopped Liver (Original by HeatherR)
    Categories: Meats,Shawn
    Yield: 1 Servings

    1 Or two packaged liver
    4-6 Onion
    2 Hard eggs,Boiled
    2 T Mayo
    Salt and pepper,To Taste

Rinse livers until water until they run clean. If using beef liver
consider soaking in milk for a bit as well.

Fry livers until done (slightly pink) and set aside to cool.

Fry onion in meduim heat in LOTS of oil (almost poaching them)

Hard boil the eggs peel and cool

Chop livers in food processor, stir in mayo, crumble in eggs, drump
in all oil and onion from pan. salt pepper to taste.

You can either blend again to make a pate or leave the eggs, onion etc
whole for more texture. I prefer to blend the shit out of it while it
looks like a pile of crap it tastes great.

man i love pineapple. i like it in the can. the dole kind are good. then i drink the juice or sugar water. regular fresh pineapple ia a bit acidic for me.

I have been known to eat them when they are in a can of fruit cocktail.
While I still don't like the texture, they are sweet enough that way I can tolerate it. ;)

My father used to buy orange juice that was wattered down with
pineapple or grapefruit juice (depending on what he bought). He'd always get upset
that I could tell the difference and would not drink it.

I remember when that was popular, I have had it but like you I don't like it.
I prefer OJ to be all orange.

Yes it was. If my father was buying it, it must have been during a time
when pineapple and grapefruit juice was cheaper than orange juice.
Otherwise, I am pretty sure he wouldn't have been buying it and trying to
    pass it off as OJ.

Of course vodka is a great addition too, but I don't drink anymore.

I don't drink that often, either, but have been known to mix vodka or
    tequila with it.

There are things that I like that are salty but I cannot think of any "drinks" I like that are. ;)

    Margaritas! ARRIBA LA BOMBA! :)

I usually order mine without the salt on the rim. I have had them that

Anchovies is a bridge too far though. Maybe someday.

Add some salty to that sweet! You could try Spam first. It's not quite the same thing, though. Still good.

maybe he just liked it for himself.
i'm not sure when they started doing this but do you know that orange juice is the most processed type of juice? they put the liquid in a tank and seal it in a vaccume and then it loses all it's flavor. then they add a 'flavor packet' which is pretty much chemicals extracted from peels. the most natural version of orange juice is from concentrate which is processed as well. they introduce water into orange juice pulp.

i would think pineapple and grapefruit juice are more expensive than orange juice to produce.

Spam actually used to be a weekly staple in my childhood.

People have talked badly about Spam for decades. I thought it was all right.

Never considered it as a pizza topping, if that's what you mean. Maybe I'll try it on my next homemade one.

I've been working in Oakland, CA recently - a town I lived in for many
years before moving to the coast.

I walked by Cafe Van Kleef, a funky bar we used to go to. Little Shop of Horrors design, lots of coolhip people, live music on an elevated stage,
    and Salty Dogs.

They'd take 2 grapefruits, squeeze them into a pint glass with ice, add
a shot of vodka, salt the rim, and add a grapefruit wedge as garnish.

    Heavenly.

The first time I went there, during the band's break, Hot Pink Feathers,
a local burlesque dance troupe did their carnaval routine as a warmup
for the parade the following week.

The second time I went there, I felt lucky getting a parking place in
front - it was in a semi-dodgy part of downtown, at least at night.

Around 12:30am, the bartender asked if anyone drove the gold toyota
    parked out front.

I went out to see the aftermath of the bouncer bouncing someone, him
coming back to get his friends, the bouncer beating them all off, and
they bidding a hasty retreat - across the tops of several cars parked in
front. Trunk, hood, roof all stove in, windshield broken. Insurance did
me well, though, to the tune of $9000.

I went back in to the bar to get us another round of Salty Dogs. The
bartender said "$24.50". I pointed at my car, and she said "On the
    house"...

    Good Times.

My wife's birthday was this weekend, and we went to a restaurant in Carmel-by-the-sea last night. I had the Osso Bucco, she the risotto. We
split a Caesar salad, and couldn't place why it was so good.

    The anchovies were fresh.

We live near Monterey, where Cannery Row was where all of the anchovy
and sardine canneries thrived in the early 20th century. They must still
be able to harvest some, because this anchovy wasn't oily, didn't have
that musky, fishy taste - it was much lighter, much more complex. Very interesting.
